Sorry, I was trying to communicate on your level. Let me give it another shot.

You claimed that there’s no difference between the tactics Chambliss used, and the tactic Cleland used. I asked you for evidence that Cleland had done something as scummy as Chambliss, and you said you weren’t here to run down Cleland. So I assumed you were going back on your original claim. If that’s not the case, why don’t you point out where Cleland did something on par with Chambliss’s attack ads?

I don’t agree that Saxby’s ads were as scummy as the knee-jerkers did, nor did I think they were pure as the driven snow. I wasn’t a fan of the fact that Cleland couldn’t run an ad without reminding us that he lost his limbs in Vietnam, but I didn’t think it was “scummy” as much as off topic. Both were what I have come to expect from your average politician.

but now the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms is involved, which probably means someone with forensic tools like EnCase, so merely clearing the cache using the browser’s option won’t be of much help.

It’s even possible that an IP address alone will be sufficient.

I’m pointing out that it’s by no means certain that an IP address will lead unambiguously to the culprit. There are other ways to find the culprit, though.

Atlanta’s unemployment rate is just over 10% and this is a firerable offense. More likely it would be 7 people pointing and saying “He’s Spartacus”.

Besides, I’m well past the point of considering my human and civil rights, my dignity and my full humanity as matters on which reasonable people can disagree. A position that devalues queer people and considers them and their lives inferior to straight people is homophobic, as is a person who holds such a position, regardless of what language it’s cloaked in.

Chambliss stated that he fired the staffertoday. The staffer remains anonymous, even as to gender/age, etc., which might be for the best for their safety (Atlanta having a huge gay population and like any large population you have your loose cannons) but it would be nice to have assurance a head rolled over it even if it’s not piked on the gate of Burkhart’s (an Atlanta gay club).

Chambliss apologized, calling this “completely unacceptable” and vowed to put it behind him while getting back to blocking gay legislation and voting straight party line on every issue regardless of merit of the Democratic position.
