I know you are at least intelligent enough to understand the difference between that and how that utter fucking vile snake McConnell refused to even allow a confirmation hearing for Garland because “it wouldn’t be fair for a lame duck president to appoint a SC justice.”
But I’d bet McConnell would have no problem accepting a nominee from a lame duck Trump, and you’d be right here trying to justify how that’s OK too.

Any evidence he doesn’t like is unreliable, Trayvon Martin is dangerous because of his marijuana troubles and his tweets, but Zimmerman is a fine upstanding gentleman, and all testimony to the contrary comes from racists who hate him because he is white. Zimmerman, on the other hand, can’t be a racist, because he is actually NOT white, he’s half hispanic, so we can discount any allegations of racism on HIS end.

Ford, as far as I know, is not a Democratic politician. She may not even be a liar, she may believe that her memories are correct and those of everybody she claimed would support her are wrong. That doesn’t change the falsity of her accusation, though.

Quite apart from Zimmerman’s description of the event, which it’s fair to dismiss as potentially self serving, it’s an agreed fact that Zimmerman asked Martin what he was doing on someone else’s private property - the woman Martin was on the phone to during the incident confirms this, and Zimmerman’s injuries show that Martin did use force on him. There is no evidence that Zimmerman did anything to justify that use of force, and presumably the listener on the phone would have said if she heard any threat.
Also, don’t forget that after Martin lost sight of Zimmerman, instead of going to his uncle’s house, he instead turned back to find Zimmerman.
There was an awful lot of terrible reporting about this case, and it was clear from the trial that the media accounts had very little to do with the actual evidence.
Martin did not “turn back”, where Martin’s body was found disproves Zimmerman’s testimony, Martin was on an alley behind the house he was living at so saying he was on private property is disengenous. Finally, Zimmerman had no reason to stop him, other than his race, and he certainly had no reason to kill him.
IANAL either, but you are confusing evidence with allegations. No one in their right mind (meaning people who are not like Babale and iiandyiiii) would say that a claim establishes itself.
Evidence would be more like if Ford said that five other people were there, including her best friend at the time, and all or some of them confirmed it. None of them did, so no evidence in favor of Ford’s story - the opposite, in fact.
And again, it is hard to have evidence about something when even the one making the accusation isn’t sure when or where it happened.

Martin was at or near the door of his uncles house at one point, then confronted Zimmerman further away from it, based on what Martin said to his friend on the phone and where the fight happened.
It was a private, gated community of which Martin was not a resident but a guest, and that’s a good enough reason for someone who is a resident to ask why they are there.
If you go back and read my posts on this issue when it first happened, you’ll see that I originally assumed it was manslaughter or the equivalent, due mostly to the terrible reporting. It was only as the actual evidence came in I changed my mind, and it’s clear that the jury agreed.
The race of neither man is relevant. That Martin injured Zimmerman, however, is extremely relevant, and justifies Zimmerman’s shooting of him.
I’m sure actual lawyers can answer this question better than we can. But I never said it was “good” evidence. Just that it was evidence.

I would say you are correct - but the alleged attacker’s claim it didn’t happen is just as much evidence in the opposite direction. Either side needs supporting evidence, and it’s clear that’s what Shodan observes is missing from Ford’s claim.
