In Your Face Radical Right Happy Dance Gloating Thread

Yes, that’s one of the things that pisses me off. This whole thing costs money-- shutting things down and then turning them back on again. And then we have people be paid for not doing their jobs… Makes me want to grab those fuckers by the throats and shake some sense into them (if that’s even possible).

DT this is coming together nicely.

No, it was not. As previous, the first half of your sentence was accurate.

The negotiations over the ACA were between the Democratic leadership and a few moderate Democrats from swing states (most notably Ben Nelson, IIRC) and Joe Leiberman.

Just a note on Ben Nelson, Nebraska isn’t a swing state. He, IMO, was trying to save his own ass in a very red state and he thereby pissed everyone off including Democrats who’d elected him. Then he turned around and didn’t even run for re-election, that asshole.

Yup. Nebraska (Omaha specifically) is a big insurance hub, and Nelson was sucking up to the corporate moneymen while simultaneously undermining the Democratic plan. That he did this for no apparent reason really chapped my hide at the time.

“THe food in this place is just terrible!”

“Yeah, and such small portions too …”

I am $ure he had a rea$on.

Ooh! Ooh! Can I be head of the Secret Police?!

Our motto: “Fighting ignorance . . . by any means necessary!”

Ted Cruz’ hometown newspaper, the Houston Chronicle, which endorsed him in 2012, just un-endorsed him.

Oh, wait – no, they didn’t!

But clearly they did criticize him.

Yes, I’m sure you haven’t. No doubt you’ve convinced yourself that this is due to your deep moral convictions, too.

This just rated a 9.2 on my Irony Richter Scale.

Anyway, the point is that one does not, as you suggested, have to be anti-liberal or anti-atheist to consider you a hate-filled lunatic.

I never complained about you being insulting, I complained that you regularly engage in a level of mindless prejudice not normally seen outside of a Westboro Baptist rally.

Kind of a different thing.

I don’t see any of this as a victory for anyone other than a few spoiled brats in Washington who have abused their positions at the expense of their constituencies. And make no mistake: they’re going to do it again in January/February and again and again, while we all watch our country go to hell because these employees of the American taxpayers can’t seem to function in their jobs. Our country lost billions of dollars: does anybody think that there won’t be fallout from this? Does anybody really think that assholes like Cruz won’t be reelected? Our enemies are laughing at us and likely plotting to move against us while we apparently can’t get out of our own way. What a debacle.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but whatever comes out of the budget committee gets to skip the House or something right? That’s why Republicans have been avoiding it?

As much as I don’t like Der Trihs’s opinions on some issues, there’s really a huge difference between hating republicans and the Westboro shit, and yes, he goes overboard but this is really just kind of disgusting, especially because you are minimizing the hate and violence that people face that actually effects them. No republicans are actually going to be hurt because DT said a few mean words, unlike when say Fox News spreads lies about transgender kids for no reason than pure bigotry.

Republicans are bitching that the poor have refrigerators and air conditioners, say that atheists don’t deserve to be counted as real Americans, force people to be raped in order to receive live-saving medical care, and recently just shut down the government and risked putting the country into default and caused a lot of problems for a lot of people, all in an attempt to help make sure poor people don’t get basic medical care.

Jumping on his back for not feeling sympathetic to the people who have openly stated I don’t deserve to count as an American and who’s propaganda arm is now going on about how it’s unfair poor people have air conditioners when Heat Waves kill people is just fucking ridiculous.

Maybe attack him in a thread where he does deserve it, but seriously - republican actions are openly trying to hurt people. They deserve all the responsibility and lack of sympathy that it causes. They’ve shown they themselves have no sympathy for others on this board - why should anybody have any sympathy for them, when they support jackasses?

I sighed yesterday afternoon and issued a whispered “Finally” when reading Huffpost’s headline about Obama:

Backbone!

This was much more pleasant, obviously, than their headline last year about the latest (at the time) in a series of Obama needlessly giving in to the Republicans yet again:

Cave!

Obama stuck to his guns this time, thank goodness …a little late, but better late than never.

I generally agree with your sentiment, but there’s no way the Republicans are going to do this again in January, much less February, not with elections looming mere months away.

I endorse this post, fully.

Spot on. Thank you.

Thirded.

Before this love-in gets too sloppy, I will just say that DT’s post that I was responding to at the start of this whole sidetrack was:

This kind of bullshit strawman is ridiculous and nowhere near conducive to any kind of useful or legitimate debate. It is nothing more than demonizing the other side because he thinks they are evil. I don’t feel that way and neither do a lot of other liberals, and I’m tired of hearing it from him.

Thank you.

A fox news host is complaining that the poor have air conditioners.

Severe weather is the leading cause of death via natural hazards.

I’m not sure how what he said was untrue.
