I doubt that s/he is, but I admit that I was confused, too. To me, “BDU” means camo (Forest, Desert, or Ice). I would imagine that kid is trying to… uhhh… kid you a little bit. Could you describe to me what you saw and why you called them BDU’s?
ELBECO UNIFORMS
Law Enforcement Uniforms By Transcon Manufacturing
Illinois Fire & Police Equipment
Roy Tailors Uniform Co. 9 colors including “Sherriff’s Brown”
Shomer Tec
First Precinct Uniforms
Streicher’s Police Equipment
CopQuest Quality Public Safety Products
PoliceOne
That enough?
If not here’s my Google search(199,000 hits)

PS “why you called them BDU’s?” 'cause that’s what they are!
Ready to retract that?
What’s with all this fuss over a shorthand term for cargo pants?
I see, now, the confusion. To a military person, BDU = Battle Dress Uniform. I would imagine many military folk and many civilians (incl. me) would not understand that for Police, BDU = Basic Duty Uniform.
No, it’s still BDU = Battle Dress Uniform, it’s just that Police are wearing 'em as Basic Duty Uniforms.
(I thought it was Battle Dress, Utility, but I might be wrong)

And that job extends to saying, “here’s the form,” “here’s the website,” or “write it down and mail it to this guy.”
That’s just fucking idiotic. Asking for a complaint form is not in any way equivalent to a crime. What is he doing, scoping the place out for a hit? Is the guy in the videos going to knock over the place and run out with the cash register?
Basically, what is the articulable suspicion (not general hunch) for this individuals involvement in criminal activity for having the audacity to request a piece of paper at 8:00 PM at night.
It may be harassing, ill-founded, unnecessary, or simply the result of a misunderstanding, but in no way is it illegal, and there is simply no excuse to unholster a weapon to get rid of the complaintant. If the complaint is false then the investigation will reveal that and the complaintant making false statements can be held accountable later. This decision making process is not the responsibility of the person assigned to the desk.
catsix, you really wanna play the ‘poor me’ card?
I was a grunt in the ARMY in the early 60’s. Tell me about abuse from on high… go ahead…
I am a biker, I look like I did something wrong. Tell me about harassment… Go ahead.
My daughter was murdered at the age of 18 years and 7 weeks. The ‘man’ let him walk and told me that if anything happened to him, ‘God’ would not be a good nuff alibi… Tell me about harassment, … go ahead…
You ever deal with the Coast Guard in the late 50’s when they got put in charge of the Corps’ inland lakes and did not have a clue about how to go at it so the just dropped the hammer on the civilians? … Go ahead, … tell me about harassment… ( Lucky that wiser heads pulled the plug on that pretty quick. )
You are just a whinny, ego poster with a degree and a large fear of the world and do not have the sense ‘God’ gave a dead goose in the sun shine…
You want to talk harassment, get cross ways with the FAA… pilots licenses are not anywhere near the protected deal a drivers license is… And they make the IRS look like wienies when it comes to ‘guilty’ until proven innocent.
You use absolute words in describing things you know nothing about, (my life and experiences), and to see you when the DEA authorities get hold of you and are in a bad mood and do a strip search and body cavity search, that would be a laugh riot to me. Your stupid mouth would be reason I bet. Go ahead, get in their face and tell them they can’t do it. Tell me about harassment… Go ahead…
Your opinion of others and the brush you paint with deserves the recognition of the sub humans who …
When I smell someone like you coming down the street, I look at them hard just to see the pee run down their leg.
Come on down, I can prove every one of my encounters plus many more.
Wanna start with your dead child?
*Sanctimonious shits like you make me tired. *
We got it. Your life sucked and so now everyone else’s should too. You’ve been subject to undue police harassment and the obvious and appropriate response, of course, isn’t to improve our police forces, but to ensure that everyone else suffers the same problems.
And any of y’all whippersnappers that pipes up ‘bout it is just gonna’ have to listen to a long story about back in the day.
So, the cops posting in this thread think we should trust their opinion, since they’re cops right? That makes every opinion from a cop a correct one right? What about the cop in the video that said he knew there were “good cops” and “bad cops”?
Spare us your “it’s not all of us” bullshit. We’re not talking abou the story done about you. We’re talking about audio and videographic evidence about your corrupt colleagues.
Florida is an anomaly as far as weird/highly illegal occurences go, but it is still subject to basic legal premises.
One should expect that a complaint filed with a desk clerk would travel all the way up to the captain? Are you high? If you bitch about cold pizza, chances are that you’re complaint never gets past the phone person. It’s called loyalty. That’s what’s “on trial” here.
Cops are protecting other cops via lack of correct paperwork, undue questioning, or even tacit threat of lethal force. Fucking morons. Let them fillout a form and then throw it away if you want to be that dishonest.
Racial profiling has been around since slavery, and might not ever be eliminated. This comes from cops arresting a high percentage of minorities (see ethnic prison population data) and getting used to being able to get an arrest whenever they pull over a minority. This is a sad truth.
Sure, there are really great cops. But anyone will tell you that people don’t talk about their good experiences that much at all. Their bad experiences can become the stuff of legend.
In those videos I saw cops protecting and serving their own, that’s not what the badge is supposed to imply is it?
So you’re exactly the kind of infantile egomaniac on a power trip who will stroke his boner by harassing, intimidating and humiliating anyone who’s not as well armed as he is? I don’t give a damn what your past is like, since you’re presently a shitheel. Your whole answer to cops doing bad things is that they should do more bad things to me, more illegal things to me, because you don’t like me?
You ever wanna start shit with me on the street, you go right ahead. Just be sure of what you’re getting yourself into, because I don’t piss my pants.
I’ve never heard BDU used as ‘Basic Dress Uniform’ and neither has the acronym finder. I guess I’m a BDU for assuming the BDU on my BDU meant BDU. You should update Wiki .
People like you always amaze me. I never have in this thread said that the cops were right or all great guys you blind idiot. I said that there were only 3-4 that I thought were really over the line. Then you got personal … right back at you… You stated that you knew that I had never been … see the quote …
I just responded that you are wrong. My life has been better than most of you just because I don’t jerk my knee into my face all the time like you seem to do.
The comments from the peanut gallery just go to show that you are not reading what is being posted… Bawahahaha
catsix, you pulled the ‘poor me’ card out, I didn’t …
You tell me that my ‘whole answer to cops’ … when I never said anything like that.
You are worse, if that can be possible, than the media when it comes to selective C&P and making absolute statements about things others have not said.
Who knows? That’s the purpose for asking questions.
I doubt it would have gone that far had the complaintant simply answered the questions instead of being belligerant and (deliberately?) pissing off the cop.
Believe it or not, cops do not have a constant and standing right to question any individual about anything they want. Well, they’re free to ask, but people aren’t compelled to answer every random curiosity that the cops have, and they have no right to know if the complaintant has a problem with, “someone having sex with your wife,” or what not. Simply direct the complaintant to the website, address, or other means of submitting a written complaint.
Refusing to ask questions is not beligerance, unholstering a weapon without threat is.
Yeah, it seems like some cops get very upset when you excercise your rights to not give out personal info. Its as if you are automatically labeled as a criminal when you simply don’t want to give an already antsy cop personal info about yourself so you can be harassed later.
'Course they don’t but refusing to answer will likely piss them off, as I’ve said at least three times now.
That’s not being belligerent? The “tester” sounds like a two-year-old!
I think the “testers” were eliciting a specific responce and–in Lauderhill, Miami-Dade Midwest, Hialeah Gardens, Sea Ranch, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office–they got it.
You’re not talking about the cop, right? Well, no, it’s not. If the person did have a bad experience with a cop, I can understand perfectly why they’d be reluctant to speak to another one. Perhaps they weren’t expecting to have to recite something right away, and wanted a chance to organize their thoughts so they wouldn’t sound like a disorganized dumbass. Perhaps they don’t have the stunning personal and verbal skills you have, and just wanted to know if there was a freak’n form, like he was asking?
The cop sounds like a fucking two year old. The guy asked for a form. If they don’t have it explain that and explain the alternatives. The cop doesn’t have a right to know where the guy lives just because he asked for a form.
I beg to differ. The “tester” was the one responding to questions with “why?”
Aaand we’re back to the whole 8:00 thing.
Tell ya what, how about we agree to disagree instead of going around in circles?
