Watching on the Today show right now- trump just left the WH for the last time-- WHOOHOO! He and Melania (or her body double-- she probably left weeks ago) boarded Chopper 1 to Andrews AF base where he’ll have a little sendoff.
A reporter was talking at Andrews AF base while music played in the background- two interesting song choices played while she spoke- ‘Fortunate Son’, which, if you listen to the lyrics, is as ironic a choice for a Presidential event as ‘Born in the USA’ was when they played it for Reagan. Then "Billie Jean’, a song about being accused of fathering an illegitimate son. Savannah Guthrie even commented on that song-- “interesting choice for this event” or something to that effect.
Emphasis on little.
Yeah, right? No Pence, no Lindsay Graham…they’re going to the cool kids’ party.
Now the DJ at Andrews is playing ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ BARF
EDIT: just realizing, Pence’s excuse, that he couldn’t logistically attend both events, is clearly a lie, since trump’s sendoff is happening now, and the inauguration will be hours later…he might as well have told trump he had to wash his hair that day lolol

One part of trump’s little farewell speech literally made me LOL – (paraphrasing from memory slightly) “the things we did should ensure a roaring economy in the months to come…as long as nothing is tampered with! Very complicated, don’t touch!!”.

I’m on my kindle, so I can’t share the picture, but in the shot of Donnie et ux. walking together, Melania has got the biggest, most genuinely happy smile I’ve ever seen on her face.
Aside, trump has clearly lost weight probably from a combination of stress and his brief bout with COVID. He’s not nearly as bloated as heretofore.
Listening to him briefly, the extent of his utter denial of reality still boggles my mind.
