Kidding, kidding, oh gracious ones!

I love a mod who knows his way around the smite button.
Confirmed.
Oh Chronos, we barely knew thee.
Makes me wanna run a Gasterd game. I’ve never had the “opportunity” to smite anyone in my own moderated games…not that I remember anyway.
Stupid players playing by the rules…
Nothing wrong with offering advice to the mods. Doesn’t mean we’ll necessarily take it. And we won’t punish anyone for merely offering it.
Just don’t break our rules to see if anyone cares. Because we care. We’re daring to be a caring pairing. Even if you’re not in the game, if you post in this thread you need to follow the rules just like the players. It’s only fair after all.
So by my count we’re just waiting on Gryff now.
Sorry, I have my PM.
Also a heap on work on my desk, it’s almost as if they expect me to do something with it… mutter
If we have multiple doctors they could protect themselves from night kills and we could slowly lynch everybody else.
Problem is the doctors would have to identify themselves so they don’t get lynched. How would we confirm they’re really doctors? Would have to use a cop. How would we know they’re really a cop though. And how do we stop the cop getting killed if the doctors are all protecting themselves?
Can anyone think of a way to turn this into a workable plan?!
Can a doctor protect himself ever?
The pms we were given in the game setup don’t forbid self-protection, so I’m assuming that it would work. (Assuming multiple docs which we don’t know that we have).
Going back a bit
I first focused on the “only one” part, and I still think that probably people do only have one role.
But it seems to me that Zsofia is right that we only have it as Gasterd’s Truth that those PMs were the ones sent out to players; the actual content of the PMs could include lies or omissions. (A player may THINK he’s a Doc but not actually be one, or there may be hidden failure chances, or other things like that.)
Which I guess means it might be possible that there are hidden Millers anyway. Hm.
Or I suppose it doesn’t say in the rules that nothing changes over time - maybe you work your ass off for turns as a doctor and then, voila, now you’re a serial killer?
Are we going to be confirmed enough to start today?
And how long does day go for?
Also, it says that everyone has one of these roles but not that all the roles are present.
Perhaps there are no goons at all and it’s just us versus a few serial killers?
Think it says 3 days in the OP.
You’re right. So, if the day began at 3 PM yesterday, it ends at 3 PM Sat?
Regarding Tom and Zsofia’s speculations that the role PMs could be deliberately inaccurate: I don’t know that I want to open that can of worms. If it’s wrong, then we stand to waste a whole lot of time and effort worrying about it that would be better spent elsewhere. And there’s absolutely nothing in the opening post to suggest it’s true, either; in fact, this
strongly suggests that it is wrong, as the quoted PMs are part of the introductory post.
Assuming that to be the case, and as doctors keep coming up today: the doctor or doctors are strongly implied to be not very effective in the quoted “doctor” PM. If that’s true, maybe we can also dispense with the speculation that the “quirk” of this game is a plethora of killers – unless Hoopy and Naf are really into bloodshed, anyway. I suppose we’ll find out after the first night.
Except I think it doesn’t begin until 3 PM today (though the mods haven’t confirmed that either) - the Night 0 post said day 1 would begin at 3 PM after everyone had checked in, thus 3 PM today.
I don’t think the day has begun yet; Hoopy hasn’t acknowledged the confirmations.
