Scotty ate those for lunch.
Obviously, the people who are phased out of existence are converted into mass for the self-repping mines and fuel for the starships.
And that seems to be the hard part of transporting through shields, anyway: You can do it, but the thing you’re transporting doesn’t stay intact. Which, if the object is just to break up the enemy hull, is as you say something you don’t even care about.
I thought Trelane’s machine was fake. It was all part of his game. He could move his planet at warp speed, after all. He’s Q-ish.*
*I alwys thought he literally was Q, hence his obsession with the Enterprise.
Spock mentioned pon farr to a human woman (who looked like she would definitely be into it) in the season three episode The Cloud Minders
I recall exactly that (swiping parts of a ship to get it to back off) happening in an Enterprise episode, but I don’t recall if the Enterprise was doing it to another ship when things were particularly desperate or someone else did it to Enterprise. It might have been the episode with two Enterprises. ![]()
The man was a menace
McCoy is operating at warp speed!!!*
*on Spock’s brain.
One of the novels referenced something that was shown on screen: antimatter can only get beamed via transporter if it’s inside a very special container. This came up when an outgunned Scotty opted to beam just such a container off an enemy ship.
That’s right, just the container.
What good did that do?
I contained antimatter goes “BOOM!”
But I thought he sent just the container…?
Looks like he just retrieved the container.
No, the enemy was storing antimatter in a container. Scotty took, not sent, but took the container from them, leaving the antimatter behind. Enemy ship go boom.
… in their Mom’s basement.
Are you talking about Enterprise: E^2?
Since both ships are considered ‘friendlies’ so, different circumstances. Or Damage which is directly referenced in E^2?
She was a Stratos-ian humanoid. Not that such things ever mattered to Kirk and crew when it came to intimate relationships.
At least she wasn’t a mermaid…
Got it. That Scotty, what a prankster!
Presumably it was ionic-type antimatter, because the only way you could contain antimatter is with some sort of magnetic field. All you would then have to do is transport away enough of the containment field generator and the antimatter would touch the physical container (made of matter) and there you go.
