I remember seeing a commercial promo once for the John Laroquette show, previewing the upcoming episode. In addition to whatever it showed from the upcoming episode, it added “plus those freaky head people” and there was like a giant-headed costumed guy in the station pantomiming some action and John freaked out and ran away.
What was that all about? I’ve wondered since 1993 or so.
Everyone in the show accidentally eats what they believe to be pot brownies (I don’t remember if they really were or not) and spend the whole show ‘tripping’. At the very end he comes across those puppet creatures and runs away from them (the joke being he had never been drugged or had sobered up by that point and those guys were part of some local show or something) at least that’s the best I can remember…sorry it’s not more helpful.
Oh and the puppets were only there for like 20 seconds you probably saw the entire interaction in your commercial they weren’t in the rest of the show at all.
…and that, my friends, is why I pay $14.95 each year…
(I actually liked that show.)
