I just heard this one: According to a usually reliable source, thanks to an overflow of paperwork, US tax forms are being shipped to India to save money on bureaucratic processing. Frankly, this one strikes me as pretty dubious but with the Bush administration anything is possible. Anybody else hear this one?
It’s only the ones filed with TurbanTax.
I haven’t heard anything about this, and it seems like something people would scream about.
Who or what’s the source?
Can’t say I’ve heard that one, but it sounds like a reasonable, good idea. A whole lot of companies are doing the same thing as a cost-cutting effort, so it’s not unreasonable the United States would want to try the same thing. However, in this area of huge budgets and wasteful spending, I can only see it as a good idea and not as something that ever has a chance of being execute. Oh well.
My conviction right about now is that the rumor’s just a lot of gas. Considering that there’s somewhat high unemployment, though, in theory the jobs ought to go to Americans. Funny how Americans are supposed to be loyal to the system but not the other way around.
If our corporate masters keep impoverishing American workers to save a dime just who is supposed to buy all these consumer products they’re coming out with? Since consumer spending is what’s propping up the economy it would seem that the more dollars said consumers have to spend the sounder the economy would theoretically be but all the fashionable economic theories seem determined to put and keep the money in the hands of the rich.
If robber barons can make a comeback, why not commie dirtballs?
Say what you will about treason, it’s fabulous entertainment.
I know that the IRS has outsourced processing of tax forms in the past. I recall a story from a year or more ago in which one of the outsourced tax processing firms managed to lose thousands upon thousands of tax forms.
I don’t recall overseas processors being mentioned though.
Many companies, including both my current and previous employers, outsource similar functions to India. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this rumor was true.
Oh, so you didn’t really want an answer, you just wanted to post a political diatribe in GQ.
Do it again and you’re done here.
