Indian tribe lays claim to Colorado...will trade for casino

So the latest news from sunny Colorado is that a group of American Indians say that they have a claim to 27 million acres. Here’s the article in the Denver Post.

Of course, the land in question just happens to include the most populated areas in the state (and of course, Denver). They are willing however, to forget the whole nasty business if we will only be so kind as to give them 500 acres and the rights to build (what else?)…a casino, near the Denver International Airport.

I would be interested to hear from anyone else who might have heard of similiar things going on in their state (like the article claims is happening). Meanwhile, I’ll start scouting a new location for the Capital Building and see what it would cost to pry it off it’s foundation and have it shipped over the Rockies

Damnit, we stole that land fair and square. Those darn injuns should go back to the reservation were they dun belong! And that casino, well, they would just blow all the profits on firewater!!

For a the humor impared, I am 1/4 Cherokee. And damnit, I want a good chunk of Georgia/Tennesse back.
