Info on a court case from some years back: Julian Letterlough/Kenneth Blunt

Julian Letterlough was a boxer who had a number of appearances on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights.” He was shot to death some years ago, and the man accused and tried for it was one Kenneth Blunt. Apparently, so the story goes, Blunt was actually trying to cap Letterlough’s companion, but nailed Letterlough instead.

What I didn’t pick up in any of the references–maybe my Google-fu is failing me–was why the Letterlough companion was being targeted. Did that come out in the trial? Owed money maybe? Random act of violence? Old grudge?

Witness testified that Letterlough and his friend got into some sort of disagreement with a woman who turned out to be Blunt’s sister Keira. She left the bar and came back with her brother, who started firing. Here’s one article on the case from the Reading Eagle. A search on “Letterlough” at their site turns up more than a dozen articles if you want to read more about the case. (You have to set the date to “all dates” since the last trial ended four years ago.)

Cool. Thanks.
