I HATE seeing the panty lines of regular underwear under my clothes so I wear thongs. They are actually comfortable to me.
Underwear of any kind doesn’t make me feel taller (but your question made me laugh) I can’t understand why you think it would? High heels make me feel taller…
I am a regular thong wearer. I am 5’7" and weigh 138.
Attention to that area is probably inevitable, and VPLs are cuter than thongs.

Really? I’m actually confused by this.
When I’m wearing a thong under something, nobody can actually see it, so I can’t imagine that lumpy lines are somehow cuter?
I’m 5’3" and about 133 lbs… I ONLY wear thongs when I dress up and don’t want panty lines. Otherwise, my ass is butt-ugly (no pun intended) and baring the cheeks any more than I have to is a sin.
Taller? A thong? No way. If anything, you feel shorter, due to the thong riding up your crotch, you feel like you are not tall enough to withstand the wedgie.
I’m 5’6" and 115 lbs. I own a few pair of things, and I regularly wear them, but they don’t make me feel taller.

Not to dissuade the females of the SDMB from wearing thongs, but if a woman is wearing tight pants, I see the panty line whether it is from reguar underwear or a thong, it’s just that the thong line is smaller and closer to the top middle part of the ass.
Ans as for unattrasctiveness? Not to me. People wear underwear, I don’t think it’s a big deal that other people know this about you.
5’7, 130 lbs, thong wearer about 75% of the time. I ama recent convert to them, and it took me a few weeks to get used to them, but I like them a lot now.
I don’t feel any “taller” when wearing a thong, bikini panties, grandma panites, or going commando.
These thong threads always amuse me. I can’t even muster the desire to put one of the damn things on. Yet our alice is all thong-all the time! I just look at them and think “permanent wedgie”!
