I enjoy spooning, but my body radiates so much heat that Wife can only spoon for a few seconds before it gets too hot. The same was true with my girlfriends before her.
Our favorite place is Yosemite National Park. We typically stay in one of the tent cabins in Yosemite Valley. The cabins have ‘walls’ of canvas, and no heat. One night the Low was predicted to be in the 30’s Fahrenheit. The park service provides all the itchy wool blankets you want, so we piled 5 blankets over our own flannel sheets. We folded a sixth blanket over Wife’s side of the bed, to give her 7 layers.
Seven wasn’t enough. I woke up and felt her torso pressed against my back, her thighs under mine, softly snoring into the back of my neck. Ecstasy. I awoke, briefly, 3 more times that night with her in the same position.

Ecstasy was taking a dip in cold Lake Michigan then burying my feet in the hot hot sand.
When a body joint (usually elbow or knee) feels like it is “locked” and hurts to move, then it “pops” and the refreshing feeling that immediately goes with it.
When you get a charlie horse and your spouse keeps saying “walk it off” and you can’t walk, and then finally the moment the pain subsides enough you can finally walk.
When bowling and the ball heads for the pocket, hits the pocket, the pins all jump straight up in the air seemingly all at the same time. A perfect strike!
In the virtual reality game Beat Saber, where you are supposed to hit blue bricks flying at you with your left hand, and red bricks with your right hand, I tend to hit a point where the bricks are approaching faster than my conscious mind can perceive them, but I can feel my arms move fast and hit the targets perfectly, my eyes not focused on anything in particular… I rarely feel as competent at anything else.
