So I unpacked and set up a new HP Laserjet printer here at work this morning, and was idly browsing through the (insultingly obvious) instructions, when I noticed that among the usual selection of English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, and Hebrew, they had added a translation in Catalan! First time I’ve ever seen that on an instruction sheet.
Is it becoming more common to have instructions translated into minority languages? In France or Spain, will you have instructions translated into Breton, Basque, Corsican, or Galician? Will instructions in Italy have versions in the various dialects (Piedmontese, Sicilian, Neapolitan, Venetian, etc.)?
