I’m working with some people in the UK to set up a business selling software and consulting in the USA. They’ve already some sales in Europe and we think there’s a large market potential.
My question is, requirements, if any, are there for a sale of software created in the UK but sold in the USA? Do they need to have a corporate entity/presence in the USA, or can I set up a company here, buy from them, and just resell their products? This is fairly customised, higher end software sold to businesses, not individuals, so it would be implemented on a case by case basis. Also, we might occasionally need to bring in one of the UK partners to help in consulting here, if that matters.
