I used to have IE 4.0 and when I loaded Windows Media Radio Stations I would get the Media Player and the radio stations would play thru it.
Now that I’ve downloaded 5.5 and the radio stations play thru the radio toolbar. This is fine except that I now find I can’t use the forward button or back button like I could on the Media Player.
Is there anyway to get the radio stations to play back thru the media player and not the toolbar?
Well, radio isn’t my strong point but if you know what the format of the sound file is, you could change the file associations so that your media player opens that file.
When I used IE 4.0 I would open Media Player then click the radio tab on the media player. Then it would do its thing and a list of stations would come up. I would click the station and it would play thru the media player. The media player has the skip forward and backward button. Thus I can replay my favorite songs again and again.
Now when I downloaded IE 5.5 I noticed a radio toolbar came up with the list of my favorite stations. I can see it would be quicker but the toolbar has no skip forward/backward button.
So I went back to the media player and opened it just like before but the media player remains inactive and the music comes thru only thru the toolbar
There isn’t a lot I can say about that. IE has some docs with the program but they don’t say a lot. Try reading those. All I could find was:
Listen to broadcast and Internet-only radio stations while you browse. Choose from a wide variety of music and talk radio stations, and add them to your Favorites list. The radio toolbar is available in Internet Explorer when you install Windows Media Player.
