Internet, give me objective advice on a new haircut!

Oh my! Apologies. It worked in preview, but maybe it took a few hits in a row to trigger the trap.

No worries, Pasta. Not your fault. Glad we caught it early, though.

Ooh, I like that, Meme.

I say the shorter the better. Also, with blonde hair it can be difficult to find styling products which don’t matte the shine and make the color look mousy. Fructise “Surf Hair” works great for me. It’s a super-light wax/paste that doesn’t change the color and provide soft support.

Cutting long hair is remarkably freeing. Do it just once to see how you like it. . .

I had to think for a while about whether it was a joke or not. I’d look like Tim from Tim and Eric  . I guess it looks pretty alright, considering its just a mockup.

You’re not ugly.

You have beautiful hair! It’s a shame to cut it, but I think you would look better without it slicked back. I agree with PP who recommended a short cut that will give some height/volume around your face. Get a cut at a stylist - not a barber - and ask them to show you how to use the right products to achieve volume.

I wouldn’t dye it right now. You can experiment later if you like. With such light hair, roots will look really bad (light roots/darker hair - make you look like you are balding or going gray) as will wash-out dye IMO.

I think the glasses are fine. Only way to tell what would be better is to try on frames - take friends with you to pass judgment.

After having seen his hair down, I realize he has hair like mine-- thin texture, but a ton of it. tretarren, I’m guessing there’s a strong Scandinavian component in your background based on the hair and coloring; we can pull off awesome things texture-wise, but we have to be careful about how much and what kinds of product we use. Too much, and it’s greasy; too little, and it doesn’t do anything.

You could pull off a Gordon Ramsay (and the other hairstyles), but I would definitely talk to your stylist about adding more layers in for texture. From my own experience with similar hair (in a drastically different color), layers and varied lengths go a long way to make the hair interesting and less flat.

Good luck, and I’m sure you’ll come up with something fun based on the suggestions; a good hairstylist will help guide you to something flattering and fun that you can keep up. Also, the stylist will be using product based on what you get-- ask them to teach you how to apply it effectively.

I don’t know about Scandinavian, but I’m half German and a quarter Swedish…still planning on going on Wednesday, updates will be given. Later today I may post potential glasses frames, if anyone has nothing better to do than comment on them…

Nothing I want to do, anyway.

I should be doing my Calculus homework right about now…alas, I don’t think it is getting done. Huzzah, laze!

I’m sorry you felt i was mocking you. I should have taken more time get the color right and smooth the rough edges.

Actually, i think the style is a very good look on you. But, nm.

Great, now I have to go look up Tim and Eric…hah! It does look like the guy with blonde hair! I still think it would be a good cut for you, trentarren.

I wasn’t offended, just taken aback. I appreciate the work - please don’t misinterpret me here. I am awful at discerning differences in style, and Meme’s mockup really does look like that McQueen one, doesn’t it? (

), maybe a bit longer…

Also, I never did do that homework and we had a pop quiz on the proofs of derivatives of hyperbolic functions. Fun stuff…

I’m done with my day and I’ve uploaded my glasses pics. A few things to note here… First, I forgot that I was holding a camera to take pictures of myself, so all the shots are about neck height, which makes the glasses all look a bit weird on me. Second, I got some really weird looks for standing in a mirror taking pictures of myself in public, so some of them are hastily done. The haircut is still upcoming, I assure all of you. Each picture (except one) has a front and a side view…I guess they’re both angle views because of the camera

I know a few of these look silly on me, and my favorite pair turned out to be a girl’s pair, so those aren’t posted at all. Interestingly enough, one of my faves wasn’t thick and plastic at all! Here are my top few, in order: 5, 6, 4, 7, 1, and the rest.

I dig 6.

With how pale you are and how light your hair is, I’d really suggest trying non black frames. I have darker red hair but I’m super super pale, and I avoid black frames because they look so harsh on fair skin. In most of those pics, all I see is GLASSES!!!11111 and not that there’s a person there, too.

I like #3 (Guess) the best. I think they’re the best proportions for your face (that’s something you need to be very careful with with glasses frames - they have to fit certain proportions of your face, or they’ll always look off).

You could keep the hair and go LARPing as Haldir from LOTR:

I like 5 and 6 for the specs. I’ve got nothing to add on the haircut front as I’m crap with styles myself - but I am looking forward to seeing the results!

Very good point. The reason I said I liked 6 best was because it was the least harsh against his fair features (like I said before, the black frames are too harsh on his skin so all I see is GLASSESSSSSSSSS).

I choose two, did not like 5, 7, or 11. All the others are okay.

I’m excited…tomorrow’s the haircut!
