Where is the best place to start a rumour on the Internet?

Seeing as that the SDMB’s only reason for existence is to “Fight Ignorance” I don’t really think this is the best place to ask for advice on starting rumors.
Jonathan Lynn once wrote that the first rule of politics is “Never believe anything until it’s been officially denied.”
So I reckon your best bet is to get Snopes or someone to do a great big piece rubbishing the rumour as mere… well, rumour. Then sit back and watch the completely pointless e-petitions roll.
