I faintly remember this book, and I was curious what you Dopers thought of it. Weird, weird book. Would it make a good movie? It was just so strange…were there really carniverous pink slugs in it?

I think it would make a terrific movie. Very bizzare book, but quite interesting.

I read it long ago… I’ve forgotten most of it by now. I think there was a carnivorous moss thing, or something. Dunno about the slugs, though.

Wow. Does anyone know when this was originally published? Barnes and Noble has it listed as 1995 but it seems like I read it a looong time before that. I have a pretty damn good memory and I had totally forgotten about this book until I saw this thread. I don’t remember a thing about it. Maybe that has less to do with my memory and more to do with the quality of the book though :).
I loved Interstellar Pig when I was a kid. According to Amazon, there was a sequel, called “Parasite Pig”, but I never read it. Of course, Amazon says the book was written in 1995 too, and I know that’s wrong…I read the book in either Junior High or High School.
Ah, here we go…the book was originally written in 1984. Here’s a Washington Post review of the sequel. (It doesn’t like it)
