Interview with author David Cay Johnston

This aired on C-SPAN’s Q&A last weekend. The transcript is available if you don’t want to watch it.

He’s an investigative journalist who wrote the current best-seller “The Making of Donald Trump”, which I haven’t read yet but plan to. It sounds very interesting, and frightening too.

Moderator: feel free to move this thread if you don’t think it belongs here.

I’ve read some of his stuff before & I think he is an excellent writer - I’d like to read the book about Trump someday…when he is off the front pages, soon, please god.

anyway, I am watching the video now so thanks for the link. I just got to the point when Oprah is interviewing him and he said if he ever ran for president he would not only win but “make a profit” :dubious:

Update: I checked out the book from the library but decided to buy it because I couldn’t bring myself to read it at the time. I did so a few days before the inauguration and told the cashier, “Might as well get this while it’s still legal to do so.”

Anyway, I finally started reading it a couple days ago. It’s scarier than I thought.

Johnston is a regular guest on the MSNBC evening news / commentary programs, such as Rachel Maddow. He’s clearly done his homework on Trump and his finances.

And he looks like the most jolly Santa Claus.

and it was only last September I had hope the rump would be out of the news soon. :frowning:

The book was completed in July 2016. I expect it to be reissued with an epilogue, most likely after Lord Dampnut leaves office regardless of how he does so.

I would think holding the office of president (in his damp, tiny hands) would be enough material for volume two. :frowning:
