It would help if you actually made some attempt to act like you have some consitent point you’re trying to make. You said:
Stalin is generally regarded as being “someone hated Christianity and Jesus”, so does it follow that “he’d probably be okay in Maher’s eyes because of it”?
It’s a simple question, and saying you don’t care isn’t an acceptable response. Does Maher base his opinions of people on their hatred of christianity or not?
At least you are consistent, syphilic pus-for-brains. Your understanding of the rules of this forum are equal to your understanding of all else you’ve posted on since you’ve gotten here.
The sad thing is that if Trebow openly worshiped Satan, the religionists would try to suppress that right, and secularists would end up opposing this and defending his rights. This would lead those self-same religionists to claim that secularists admired Satanism, etc.
Back in the 1960s, when we fought for civil rights for blacks, we got called “Nigger lovers.” When we opposed McCarthyism, we got called “pinks.”
They trot out the same stupid reasoning when they try to pass laws forbidding the desecration of the American flag. We oppose such laws, and they promptly brand us as “flag haters.” Same damn thing, over and over.
(Except that I actually do like blacks… I despise communists… And I pretty much ignore the flag… So it goes…)
When you try to do what’s right, there’s always going to be people who resent and hate you for it. It doesn’t matter what it is you try to make right, either. Don’t mind me, I’m just commiserating with you here.
You’ve said some nasty things to me, and I know better than to ask you for an apology. As an atheist, would ever lower yourself to apologize for something you said?
I’m not sure what I should apologize for. I said something Czarcasm didn’t like in my #228. No one on the Dope has ever asked me to apologize for anything until now.
What does the fact that Czarcasm is an atheist have to do with whether or not he would apologize to other people? Do you have some reason to believe atheists are more reluctant to apologize than any other group of people?
It’s been my experience that atheists don’t apologize for the things they say. In their own mind they have an entitlement to be rude. To treat people like crap. To walk all over them.
Would Hitchens apologize for any of his utterances? Absolutely not! And that’s why in death he’s still a hero to so many.
That has nothing to do with atheism. If you convince a person they’re wrong or that they’ve hurt you, they’ll usually apologize, atheist or no. Given you own behavior around here, I’m not surprised if people don’t apologize for telling you what they think of you.
That’s not why he’s a hero to people, and no, I’m sure he wouldn’t apologize for much of what he said since I doubt he was sorry.
