I play tuba. Or rather, I used to, decades ago. I don’t play any more, because who actually has their own tuba? But what I do have, is access to a makerspace. Several of them, in fact. And so, some years ago, I decided I would make my own tuba. My goal is to be able to do the whole thing on a budget of $100 or less, which would be a big deal, given that a new tuba usually costs more like $10,000.
