Inventions we don’t need

I can see that being slightly useful for being able to check the doneness of whatever you’re baking without having to get up.

I assume the stereo was aftermarket, and the remote was intended to let backseat passengers control the stereo, if installed in a vehicle with a backseat.

A remote (if radio-linked rather than IR-linked) might also be handy if you’re working/playing outside the truck and listening to the stereo.

If my hands are especially gross, I just pump the soap with the edge of my forearm into the other hand. It’s not especially difficult. I don’t think I’ve ever even used an automatic soap dispenser. Faucets, yes.

Seen at CES: Completely wireless battery powered TV that sticks to the wall with an active vacuum system.

Yep, aftermarket. No back seat in this truck. Who ever owned it before it was looking for bling I suppose. Wide, short profile street tires and crap. I put real tires on it, a plow and a winch and now it does it’s job as a truck. It seems happy.

Every time I use the stereo (rarely) I’m always WTF, how do I do this? It’s the most overly complicated over designed mess I have ever seen. Not including the remote control it has 24 buttons on it. The speakers are stock Dodge Truck. Ummm…

Unnecessary controllers seem to always be a thing with electronics.

I had an alarm clock with a remote control, no it wasn’t for a radio since it wasn’t a clock radio. Instead it was so you could put the alarm clock on the opposite end of the room and still hit the snooze button from your bed when the alarm went off.

i know its an old post but I have problems using a spatula … its actually easier for me to just flip the pan over …its also why I use one of these waffle iron-like sandwich makers …

And contribute to the ongoing obesity epidemic

Ok, so all those people now get on board ocean liners. Or are they supposed to satisfied just sitting at home on vacation? What if all their relatives live overseas? Are they supposed to be satisfied with never again being in the presence of their loved ones? Who made you boss?

Yeah, I bought a Volvo from a buddy of my Wife. He tore out the easy to use, and can do nearly everything with steering wheel controls standard Volvo Stereo and installed one with dozens of complicated controls- that gives no better sound.
