iPhone question: How do I get only one contact displayed at top of my text messages?

I’ve got a pic of Mrs Piper showing when I open my text program on my iphone. That’s how I want it. (A delightful pic of her in her court waistcoat with an ice cream cone I bought her after a good day in court.)

Until today, when a dual pic of Mrs P and a third party contact started showing up, along with the single pic of Mrs P. (We sometimes have a joint text between us and the third party.)

How do I get rid of the third party / Mrs P, and get it back to just being Mrs Piper?

You can pin up to nine particular conversations to the top of your iMessage app. Just pin the one that is just between you and your wife and it will only have her icon.

How do I do that, please? (remember - techno-peasant)

Try this. Here’s a short list without the graphics:

  1. Open the Messages app.

  2. Find and long press the text message (not the contact icon) from the person or group you’d like to pin.

  3. Tap Pin in the menu that appears.

  4. Your contact will now be pinned to the top of your Messages list.

Ah “unpin” - for the one I didn’t want. Thanks!

I have no idea how it got pinned. One of those great tech Mysteries I guess.
