I have looked around the internet for an answer, but all I find is the question…
I have an Apple iPhone. I keep a diary in my calendar. I want to search my entire calendar for entries. As best I can tell, the Apple search will only cover one year in the past and one year in the future. Has anyone here found any app or method to search the entire calendar for entries?
I don’t think there is any way around the 2 year search window, a pretty lame decision on Apples part. Then again, and no offense intended, using the calendar as a diary probably wasn’t the best move either. A cumbersome workaround could be to put the calendar in list view, that way you can quickly scroll through the titles of your entries (but not the notes, if that’s where you’re putting your dairy entries) by date.
“Day One” and “Momento” are both robust diary/journaling apps that have a very high rating at the App Store.
thanks!
I will check them out. I got into the habit of using the calendar as a diary back in my Palm Pilot days. There it was a great tool and worked very well. Then I moved to Android and then iPhone and not so much…
Coincidentally, 2 weeks ago Starbucks for their App of the Week promotion offered up Day One as a free download via the Starbucks app. If you happen to already have had the Starbucks app installed at least 2 weeks ago, I think Day One should still be available to download for free. If you don’t already have the Starbucks app installed, I don’t think Day One will be available to download, but you could still try.
