Ipod nano (7th gen)

Hi, I had an old nano with the click wheel used it for jogging, well the other day it finally broke so I went to the store to get a new one. I got the new nano 7th gen no click wheel it’s touch screen. I went into itunes and made a playlist the album raw power by iggy and the stooges, put it on the ipod but when I went to play it I realized you can’t push play and just let the album play while your jogging. You can only pay one song at a time when the songs over you had to flip back and play song two. There is no play button on this thing. Anyone know a way around this?

From the main screen, hit “Music”
Then hit “Albums”
Choose the album you want
Choose a song or hit “Shuffle”

…and the whole album will play, either from that song or randomized as you chose. I don’t know how you got to a single-song mode.

Ok just tried it, went to the album went to song one hit play and it just stops when the song is done, doesn’t go on to song two, been trying different things for 30min now lol ipods shouldn’t be this hard to figure out

Check some things in Itunes by selecting one of those songs and choosing Get Info (cmd-I or right click and Get Info). Go to the Options tab.

Is Media Kind set to music? Is Remember playback position or Skip when shuffling checked?

didn’t work

What do you mean? Were you able to see the Options on those songs? What are they set to?

I’m trying to figure out what you’re doing, and can’t for the life of me figure it out. I’ve got a 7th generation Nano as well, and I have no problem with songs playing one after another.
I have all my music lumped in one playlist called “iPod Music”, mainly because I don’t care enough to separate it into nitpicky playlists. I almost always keep it on shuffle.
I hit the “Music” icon, then hit “iPod Music” and then “Shuffle” and off I go.

I can separate it by artist or album or genre within that one playlist, but it works the same way. Hit “play” and it plays all the songs in that list.

If you’ve got an Apple store nearby, take it to the genius. He/she will either show you what you’re doing wrong, or replace the device if you’re doing it right and it’s not working.

This happened to my mother in law once, she had her iPhone stuck playing one track over and over. I’ve had several different varieties of iWhatevers with touchscreens and they’ve all functioned similarly, so yours probably does too. Do you get a screen where you’re looking at the album artwork, and play and pause on a bar underneath that? If so, tap the middle of the screen where the album artwork is once, and you should get a translucent bar across the top of the album artwork with a track position bar and probably three symbols underneath the bar. The one all the way on the left, if you tap it it should change from white to a color (mine is orange) to a color with a little number one. That will change it between repeat off, repeat on, or repeat one track.
