I have a podcast that I didn’t download via iTunes. When I attempt to drag and drop it into the iTunes Podcast folder, it gets copied to the Music folder instead. I don’t want it copied to the Music folder! What to do?
Do you have the RSS feed address for the podcast? The easiest thing to do then is to add that feed to iTunes manually, then re-download the podcast through iTunes.
Once you have downloaded the podcast file, dragging into the iTunes window will add it as a music file in your library. I know, you did that.
In order for it to be in the podcast folder you have to let iTunes download the file. You can do this by going in the iTunes menu…advanced…subscribe to podcast. This will bring up a dialog box where you can load the URL of the podcast feed.
It can be any podcast feed I just did it with one that was definitely not in the iTunes music store. Most webpages where you can download a podcast will also have a ‘subscribe via iTunes’ buttin on them and this does the same thing.
