My son washed his jeans with his new ipod nano in the pocket. I’ve got a blow dryer on low aimed at it right now. What is the recommended procedure for giving it the best chance of surviving?
I’m pretty sure it’s ruined. iPods don’t take to water very well
I don’t know about iPods specifically, but your best bet with wet electronics in general is to let them soak in rubbing alcohol for several hours, and then go at them with the blowdrier. Maybe it is ruined, but if so, it won’t hurt to try.
Then let it sit for 4-5 days before you try to turn it on. I’m guessing it will be fine, actually. The Nano’s solid-state, there’s no hard drive in there. Let the LED dry out and I bet it will work.

Rinse it out, either with good clean water (not hard water, as that’ll leave deposits in sensitive places) or rubbing alcohol. I wouldn’t soak it, since it has a built-in battery. Just rinse it briefly. Then, let it dry really well.
