OK George, right now get some meds, blankets. tents food and some USA Moslem guys to be sure the dietary laws are met, stick it all in some C 130s and send it off so that they will know we are their pals, not a bunch of guys who want their children to blow up themselves and others.

I was under the impression that Iran was entering a period of reform, with more people favouring closer ties with the west. However it is the USA that keeps pulling away from Iran (ex. Bush’s “axis of evil”). Either aid is good 
Correction: Either way, aid would be good.
The Iranian public and the reformers (of whom the nearly powerless Iranian president is one) would like closer ties. So would the US. However, the Iranian hard-liners still control the government, so the official government cant is anti-US in the extreme. Almost as vitriolic as those in Iraq. Granted, GWB doesn’t help the situation with his “axis of evil” remarks, but there has been nothing like an official gesture of peace from the ayatollahs who run the nation.
since most of the homes destroyed were made of mud what do we send ?
I am pissed off that this morning’s news made no mention of our own government sending aid.
