In fact, I think it’s enough of a spoiler that I’ll put it in the second post.
Trinity dies.
Okay, now the question.
Has there ever been a faceoff like that before? Between two different versions of the same character? I can think of several movies with scenes that were similar but not the same. Like Robocop, with ED209 vs. Robocop, but that’s not quite the same because both those characters were original to the film. Or Superman 3, with Clark Kent vs. Kryptonized Supes, but again, not quite the same because they were the same actor in the same series. This was the first time I can remember two different versions of the same character not just interacting, but battling for superiority. So is it the first time it’s happened, or just the first that I’m aware of?
Spiderman vs Venom.
Well played.
The real spoiler:
After the credits have rolled Samuel L. Jackson has a cameo as Nick Fury inviting Iron Man to join the Avengers.
Me confused. What are you talking about?
The Iron-Monger Armor (Stane’s gear) was never Tony Stark’s and he never wore it, even in the comic.
No, but (not spoilering this because “Great big spoiler” is in thread title) it was built using the same prototype, so it certainly qualifies as a “version” of the same thing.
My contribution would all be from Star Trek: the M5 war game massacre from “The Ultimate Computer” (TOS) and the Mutara Sector battles in Khan.
In X-Men 2, Wolverine fights Lady Deathstrike, who was given an adamantium skeleton and claws through the same process as Wolverine.
Then yeah, that happens all the time in the movies and in the comics. I’d be hard pressed to think of a comic where that didn’t happen regularly.
Not in all the prints, it doesn’t.
Rassle frassle.
