This does look like it could be fun. The premise is genius. Space Nazis versus President Sarah Palin.
Let’s hope it lives up to its promise.

I’m not sure who to root for…
I caught the trailer yesterday for the first time as well. I had to watch it twice to make sure I had seen it correctly. I don’t care if it gets horrible reviews, I have to see this on the big screen.
ETA: It looks better than the GI Joe sequel.
Oh, that is going to be so bad it will be good! Like the Godzilla movies! I haven’t seen a movie in the theater in over a year and a half, but this one I’m going to.
How mainstream is this movie going to be? Like will I be able to see it for a couple weeks at every mall in the country, or will it be one of those one-night-only at the art theatre kind of movies?
I’m wondering the same thing. Is this going to be strictly an iTunes and art house thing or will it be opening in regular theaters?
We can hope they destroy each other.
I’m not so sure about that. What if the VP is, say, Christine O’Donnell?
We hope for collateral damage.
I bought it on DVD today and the above prediction is pretty accurate (hope none of this requires spoilering) - considering the small budget, the effects, costumes, locations, props, lighting were all rather good, but the story progression is flimsy, plodding and meandering and sadly, the scripting (or maybe the acting, I can’t decide) is just a big mess - it felt like watching a rehearsal.
Bit of a shame really. It almost seems like just a little more care and craft would have made it great.
It’s on TV here at the moment. I’ll probably give it a try out of curiosity.
Where are you?
Well, if it’s out on DVD I may get it. I always meant to see it but I don’t know how widely it was released. Don’t think it showed in my city.
Not on Netflix yet, but I have the hell added it to our queue.
I don’t want to bang any Nazis. Palin would do in a pinch. ![]()
Ah! The role Udo Kier ( link ) was born to play! ![]()
Well, I liked it, for the most part.
I met him at the Palm Springs film festival a few years ago. He seemed nice enough, for a Space Nazi.
Where did you see it? The website says that the release date for the US and Canada is TBD. http://www.ironsky.net/site/film/releasedates
I just realized something - although my girlfriend seemed certain that Udo Kier had been a James Bond villain at some point (he certainly has the cultured menace to pull it off), the main antagonist in Iron Sky was played by Gotz Otto, who was the primary henchman in Tomorrow Never Dies.
