Let’s say I write up a pit thread on how much I hate tiny text. It’s long, well-justified, and gosh darnit, it made people laugh. What’s the first post going to be?

This is simply not clever. It’s not cute, it’s expected. You might as well shout ‘band name’; it might just be more clever.

You could just not rant about it, you know. Yeah, keep it bottled up inside. Then one day someone cuts you off in traffic while calling you a :wally and giving you the finger. You can’t take it anymore, and you go home and cry. Or you pull out an uzi and shoot 20 people before being chased by cops all over the city and eventually driving off a bridge.

Seriously, what’s the worst that can happen?

Me personally, I like all the stuff ranted about in this rant and the mini rants that followed it. I think it makes the board more interesting and colorful. Even if it’s been done 100 times I still get a chuckle out of it. Maybe I just havent been here long enough to get tired of it yet.

I mean, I’m all for some new material here, but “Band Name” and “Hi Opal” still get me every time. As for ironic first replies, my first thought is “I wish I could have gotten here sooner so I could have said that”!

I always miss all the fun…

Y’know what I hate even more? The inevitable “Did you really have to post this thread”, or “You must be really bored/over-sensitive/picky to complain about something so stupid” comment. It just implies the obvious response: “Did you really have to post just to ask if I really had to start this thread?”
