Irreversible: two questions (spoilers)

I’ve just seen “Irreversible”. Not for discussing the film, which I agree with Roger Ebert and Berardinelli in their kind critics.

I only have two questions.

  1. Who is the man who is beaten with the fire extinguisher in the “Rectum”? Isn’t Le Tenia, right? We are not very sure about that.

  2. Where exactly in the film is the cameo of director Gaspar Noe? Some of you know who is him?

The man beaten to death is not Le (La?) Tenia. I’ve only seen it once myself, but several people I know who’ve seen it more than once confirm that the wrong guy gets his skull smashed in.

He’s one of the guys masturbating in the club. I couldn’t tell you which one, but his cameo comes early. No pun intended.

I have absolutely no desire to ever sit through this movie again, but it was very well made. Philosophically kind of facile, which is why it’s not worth putting myself through it again, but damn, I’m glad I saw it once.
