Is a cel phone also an acceptable alarm clock?

I used to use a palm treo, now a palm pre. I set them at the very lowest volume possible. (If it was in my pocket, you wouldn’t hear it).

Never fails to wake me.

Of course I usually wake slightly before it goes off, glance over to check the time, then just veg in bed until it beeps.

At home - proper alarm clock

On the road - cell phone works just fine.

I’m a very light sleeper though. I actually wake to the very faint electrical buzz the alarm clock emits before chiming.

This is the kind of thread I want to be a part of.

I occasionally use my mobile phone as an alarm clock, if I’m away from home, or whenever I want to wake at a time other than 6.30am - the time to which my digital clock radio is set.

The phone never fails to wake me. However, I like to listen to the radio in the morning, and to be able to see the time if I wake during the night. Hence why I have a digital clock radio.

[PS Hello everyone! First ever post - went quite smoothly, I thought.]

But but but…We have this!

For the love of god, flee while you still can.

Did you bribe them with chicken orifices?

Mine is much better than an alarm clock. The only disadvantage is the few occasions when a friend nabs my phone and changes the alarm sound to something annoying, like I Got You Babe. Or maybe I’ve simply forgotten my experiences in Punxsatawney.

She could switch it to silent or turn it off. The alarm will still work.

Lamb, thanks for asking :(.
