Is AI coming to Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant?

It me it seems like a great match. Alexa has basically stalled in advancements, Amazon has stated that it wants to have people more engaged with it and has a very big user base and seems perfect for AI, same with the other 2 gorillas ing the cloud.

I expect it will happen but there are probably technical issues the rest of us are unaware of that will need to be worked out. Also possibly legal rights and issues to be worked out.

This is like asking whether water is coming to the Pacific Basin. Of course Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant are AIs. They’re AIs that are designed to be helpful, rather than AIs that are designed to be conversational.

The big mystery is why Microsoft thought it was a good idea to use a chatbot for Bing Search.

Indeed, these were AIs from day one. Most of them get more and more AI capabilities as time goes on. They just aren’t on the ChatGPT level yet.

Note I said “most”. The exception is Siri. The Siri group at Apple is a mess. A lot of improvements that other AI progs have added aren’t being added to Siri.

They’re orthogonal to ChatGPT. They can’t carry on a conversation like ChatGPT does, but they’re much better than ChatGPT at retrieving accurate and relevant information, and at controlling other apps. Because that’s what they were made to do.
