Is Al Gore Really the Unabomber?

Don’t read on if you still want to take the quiz, 'cause I give something away.

Well, I seem to be doing the best so far of the scores reported in that I scored 50%. (I figured after a while that the catch was going to be that Gore said them all.)

I’m curious though, do you find any of the quotes attributed to Gore to be highly disagreeable?

Gore wrote his book before he became VP (1993). The Unibomber manifesto was published around '95 or '96.

I scored 58%, and I’ve read neither the manifesto nor the Unibombers book.

I figure my prize will come in the mail, right?

Do not open it!

I got a 17% w00t w00t.

But I figured id get something extremely low because none of them mentioned “and thats why i blew up all those people”(which would have obviously been Gore)

I scored 50%… I tend to agree with most of the quotes from both sides, but you have to remember that they are quotes… It doesn’t mean that someone who agrees with it agrees with all that the unabomber thought.

67%

I got a 67, which is disappointing to me. Having recently read the Unabomber Manifesto I thought I’d do better (read it about three months ago).

Incidentally, Ted’s “book” isn’t as wacko as he was. There were some interesting logical flaws in it, but on the whole it was an entirely rational book explaining why nature is truly better than technology.

I wonder, has anyone here read it? It isn’t the book of the devil that it might be made out to be. And there are plenty of copies floating around online. This makes me want to go out and read Gore’s book, now.

Read on, and be informed.

The big problem with political humor is that people take it so seriously!

No! No! No!

The line is:

The big problem with political jokes is that they get elected.

If everyone can’t at least be civil, be sure to score your humor points.

I always thought it was Maria Callas and/or Jackie Onassis.

Oooh…but my personal favorite Gore quote from that quiz was the last one…

“…because anyone willing to manipulate his personality for the sake of artifice, even to entertain, was considered spiritually suspect.”

Pot, meet kettle…

I just wanna brag that I made a perfect score. . . of course, I did read Gore’s book last year for a class.

I got 75%. I’m elated; I was ready to complain about how unfair the test was.
FYI: I’ve read the Unabomber Manifesto but not Earth in the Balance. Still, I can’t say I recognized any of the passages; I would have thought that the test could have mentioned the term “Socialization” at least once, given Kaczynski’s fondness for the term.
