Trouble with that is we can invade you back, run incursions across an indefensible 3000-mile border, going all asymmetrical on your own soil, and it’s not like we’ll have trouble blending in. You’d have to put even more restrictions on your own people in an effort to root out Canadians, and it won’t be as easy as just rounding up brown people - real true honest-to-God white Americans will get hassled, and they won’t like it.

Well, you’d end up with a whole lot of “friendly fire” incidents in North Dakota, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
And I incidentally guess if the fascist future U.S. government is insane enough to use nukes literally along it own border, where most Canadians live, then it’s a regime eager to destroy itself, since southerly winds will blow the fallout right back at them.
Facetiousness aside, undermining and exploiting Canada is more easily done (and arguably is already being done) through American corporations than by the American military.

So is “the Internet Kill Switch” mounted on a wall in the gubmit goons’ control room somewhere where they slide down a pole and jump in their black SUVs after they throw the switch? 
Even if some gumbit, terrorist cell, or stupid person with enough explosives managed to shut down that building, it would not shut down the Internet.
You should do some research on the history of the Internet, how and why it was designed and built, etc. You might then reconsider your alarmist cries for help from the opressive facist regime as far as any “Internet Kil Switch” fears are concerned. :smack:

If you define Fascism as the welding of business and government to the interests of business ,then we are clearly headed down that road. We may be there now. Ike warned us of the danger of a part of it. The military and industry. We have gone far beyond that, with GE a huge military contractor owning massive segments of the media as an example. The trend is clear.
The enormous power of lobbyists working for business is warping our politics too. The voice of the people is subdued when compared to the access and influence of corporations. They are inside government and own the TV and radio. We can be convinced to back any way they choose. Iraq is a perfect example. All stations had rousing support for a war that was wrong . The military was allowed to lie without any rebuttal. The game is over.

It’s a good description of the economic aspects of fascism. It’s certainly not the whole of the definition, though.
This is the primary units owned by GE. GE makes a mint during the wars. Do you think all the media they own are free to criticize the war that is making billions for the parent company? Do you think they will come out for cutting the military budget? Do you think the media they own will quietly accept an era of peace that costs them huge profits?
That is the danger. It does not have to be a plot subverting America. It is just a corporation with a prime directive to maximize profits. They make lots of money off military contracts and war.
And GE is part of the government?
