For the past week or so I’ve been having problems with the message board not allowing me to use the back button or even exiting from the main board. I used to be able to go from thread to thread with no problems but it’s getting frustrating having to hit the back button multiple times to exit a thread. Anyone else having this problem? It only happens here. Help, please!
Yes and typing, it will freeze up and stop entering what I am typing.
I think it is advertising using up a lot of CPU power.

Yup ! I can’t use the back button at times too.
I’ve previously had ads do that. They load and add entries to your history, so you hit the back button and seemingly nothing happened, when in reality it takes you back one ad load, which then probably reloads.
Does your back arrow history list show more entries?
FWIW, it works fine for me.
I have a different strategy: I open a forum thread list in one tab. Then to open various threads, I open them in a new tab. To exit the thread, I just close the tab, and the forum thread list in the other tab is still there.

I use Firefox with Adblock Plus and NoScript, and have noticed no problems with the site. No browser freezing, no malfunctioning back-page button, nothing. I’m pretty certain at this point that it’s the ads and trackers screwing things up for people.
Definitely ads causing this I’d say. A simple solution is to right-click the back button and click on the correct page from the history list.
Sometimes they load so many the right page rolls off the history list.
I definitely leave the thread list up and view threads in a different tab. I even keep my CP panel as a different tab than the forum list, which I use to select the forums.
