Is anyone else here watching it?

I just stumbled across the Lizzie Bennet Diaries a couple days ago. Basically, it’s a vlog with “Lizzie Bennet” and it’s based on Pride and Prejudice. It’s funny that I just learned about it, since it’s been running for about a year already - it’s going to be 100 episodes (each one is about 4 to 6 minutes long), and they just posted episode 98. So I’ve watched all of the episodes in the last two days (I was home sick with not much to do), and I’m really enjoying it. Then again, I’m a sucker for all P&P adaptations, so maybe I’m a poor judge.

I enjoy the updating to a modern setting, and I think the changes that were made were mostly well done. I watched the first couple videos out of boredom and they didn’t really grab me immediately, but after a few more I got hooked.

They just launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring the series out on DVD, as well as funding future other future productions. It’s already fully funded (over $161,000 when the goal was $60,000, with 30 days left to go).

I watched one or two episodes. I do get the feeling that after about 5 episodes it gets churning but I haven’t sat myself down and made it to that point yet. I am, however a devoted devotee of Hank Green’s other pet project, The Brain Scoop which focuses on natural history. (Everything is dead.)

I do know that everyone deserves tea, though.

I’ve watched it since episode 5. The series made me a fan of Laura Spencer aka Jane Bennet. They have other sister blogs: The Lydia Bennet, Pemberley Digital and Collins & Collins. They are supplements to the LBD blogs and you’ll see them linked at the end of those episodes.
