Is anyone reading the comic strip "Unfit" by Mike Belkin? Can you help me out here?

Okay. I’ll admit that I probably wouldn’t even read “Unfit” if it weren’t on a comics compilation page I read every day, because, frankly, it’s not terribly funny and the wife character makes me wish the main character would go on a murderous rampage. However, I do read it pretty much every day (because I’m reading the rest of the page anyway) and today’s strip just mystifies me.

What’s the lump in the middle supposed to be? What was she holding in since they got engaged? What the hell is going on? Is she laying eggs? Did she poop in bed? Is that a broodling she’s fed on her internalized rage and just released into the world? What the hell?

I think it’s a fart bubble just about to burst.

Snooooopy is right. A popular meme among comedians during the late 80’s and early 90’s, especially female comics, was the “differences between men and women”. Men can let 'em rip anytime but women have to hold 'em until they’re married to maintain the “dainty woman” image or something. Or was it that men fart in bed and…Damn, that was a long time ago.

Another thread in that meme is that women don’t eat on dates. You can imagine that it’d be easy to substitute a dinner table with empty plates piled up instead of the bubble under the covers.

JayJay , did you see the strips with the rooster? The April 4, 2006 installment was a great commentary on man-as-a species’s inflated self worth.

This one was pretty hilarous
