Brian Molko of Placebo is definitely American - at least he has one American parent and a discernible American heritage. He has charisma and some great music. Why is he not claimed by Americans? Rolling Stone magazine’s archives contain very few articles on this group whereas British magazines are full of them.
It’s because he looks too much like a girl. That seems to scare most americans, because we suck. 
Does it scare both female and male Americans?
I was reading a magazine article yesterday on a current fashion among women for (slightly) more effeminate men. The article talked about the popularity of men who are “just gay enough”. These fashionable men ride motorcyles and do cooking. Or read poetry and play football. I think some men would be surprised at how many women generally prefer ectomorphs to mesomorphs.
Now, ecto is a line with the bulge above, endo is below, and meso is flat, right?
