This is me responding, right here. I’ve been responding. No, they shouldn’t participate, that gives legitimacy to an illegitimate regime. If the game is rigged, don’t play. This is not a novel idea.
It’s not “just symbolic”. There are concrete clauses in it that have concrete real life results. There are clauses that the Supreme Court has made “just symbolic” too.
In fact, the Constitution doesn’t prohibit (AFAIU) a general from becoming a President. It just, by implication, sets that being a President is a civilian position (since it doesn’t require any military training or rank), and that the President is the Commander in Chief of the military, so being a general as well as President is kinda redundant.
Intelligence source:
Main supporters of the MB after it’s ouster were the CIA, France and UK intelligence agencies. They were found to be directing the MB on what steps to take to recover their position.
This explains why the Western media were so one sided in reporting the reality and are still are.
Morsi was elected. The monitors including Carter Foundations reported so many violations it became a farce. Carter said he would NEVER again take part in monitoring in Egypt because of it. Voters bused to the polls by MB and given money and basic commodities for their vote. It’s exactly what Mubarak did. MB standing outside the polling stations with megaphones telling the voters that they would go to hell IF they did not vote for Morsi!!! Egyptians are very pious and this kind of religious speech scared many simple people to vote for him. Burning churches and convents and attacking nuns and priests and saying that they were controlling the peoples minds was also what was happening by the MB. Threatening judges to stay away so that lesser MB controlled areas like Christian areas and Sufi could not vote because polls couldn’t open with no judge. Hundreds of violations…it was not a properly elected government by any means!
A further point!
That ‘elected government’ then went on to use the same tactics to vote their members into Parliament and the shura council. Once in Parliament their daily debates were about things like
- Making law for girls to marry at age 6
- Making Sharia Law (as they interpreted it) the entire law of the land and giving no right to the Jews and Christians.
- Making FGM legal and compulsory
- Virtually no right s for women
and many many more were being openly discussed in their dominated Parliament which many of the other like Amr Moussa simply refused to accept.
It’s very strange here for me as an Egyptians to be reading so many in defence of such an organisation the MB. Very strange indeed!!!:dubious: and it just shows the complete indoctrination of the Westerners who have been relying on Western journalists to report their biased clearly with an agenda news to them
How else can we explain Americans supporting the MB who want to put beheading and stoning in the statute books, who burn churches and attack nuns etc and not the people who asked the army to remove them like me.
Bewildering and actually quite sickening…
Just a correction: people here aren’t defending the Muslim Brotherhood, they’re defending the system. I think you’ll find that Westerners are more interested in political systems than they are in individuals or even in political parties.
I know this may sounds strange to you, but the general Western attitude is “It isn’t important who wins or loses - what’s important is that everyone played according to the rules”. The way they see it, Sissi cheated by taking power without winning an election. I doesn’t matter that the MB were a horrible government and that Sissi may save Egypt. What’s important to them is that he didn’t play fair.
On that day that they were arrested Egyptians were battling thousands of MB looters and arsonists in the main cities who were burning down university faculties, looting shops, spraying graffitt all over private homes, businesses and public buildings, terrorizing people on the Metro, stopping fire crews and ambulances access to the fires, burning tyres on the Main bridges and main roads stopping traffic flow, trashing the offices of the University deans and throwing the furniture out the windows, and a million other crimes!!! the residents helped the police stop them and arrested anyone who was with them like the above who were spray painting cars and walls and peoples houses with NO to Dostour. Old men were grabbing them and handing them to police after they set fire to their cars or were pouring glue onto peoples cars then posting their NO posters . ( Justin Beiber threw some eggs and look what happened in USA!)
By the way you don’t seem to know who Strong Party are. The party who activists were arrested for the posters.
Strong Party head is Al Fotouh who was a life long MB member.
He was asked to resign from them when and wait for it!!! The MB said he wanted to run for president and that was against the MB policy and promise they made. The MB promised the people they would NOT run a presidential candidate but obviously lied because they then ran Al Shater who then had to drop out so they ran Morsi instead. They also promised they would not field more than 30% candidates for Parliament and that was also another lie.
When Fotouh left many Egyptians were actually fooled into voting for him. I was one of them. We believed him when he said he stopped being an MB brother.
BUT!!! it seems that the whole thing with Fotouh was to collect the moderate votes and after that align back up with the MB again.
Fotouhs Strong Party were traitors and Egyptians now realised they were fooled and those posters who were arrested were MB and are against just about everything like the MB now.
no one is asking to to believe anything
I will stop reading your posts now because you don’t have a clue about what is going on and are distorting facts fed to you by your media.
NotFooledBYW is the one who seems to be able to separate the fact from the fiction and thank God for that
No let me explain it to you in simple steps
-
Tamarod gathered 30 million signatures in a petition to remove Morsi and his Jihadist government.
-
All negotiations with them failed. They refused to allow the Church and Liberals any say in anything. All the famous names like Baradei ended up walking out on them. The country then asked Sisi to intervene and talk to Morsi to allow the rest of the Parliament and people to be part of the discussions and Dostour making process. Each time Sisi spoke to him Morsi said YES then when they went he locked them out as he had always done. After many many attempts Sisi warned him that the people would not tolerate this much longer and he had to include everyone. Sisi then got assurances from Morsi that he would then make a speech on TV which would invite all parties to be part of the dostour making process. Sisi went to see him an hour before broadcast and again was reassured by Morsi he would give the live speech. The car that went to pick him up for the broadcast went empty. Morsi let down Sisi at the last second and refused to include the likes of Amr Moussa and activists and Church etc. Sisi told him then he was finished because the people will never believe him.
-
Tamarod called for a demonstration against Morsi on June 30th to the people of Egypt to come out into the streets and give the army a mandate to remove him.
-
Morsi arranged a counter demonstration in Cairo Stadium.
-
As Egyptians were filling the streets of the country to remove Morsi and calling on the army to do it, Morsi was with the crazy Saudi cleric and various other terrorists Morsi had released from jail in Cairo Stadium shouting through a loudspeaker for Egyptians to go to Syria and shed their blood as martyrs and fight with the jihadists. Egypt is one of the very FEW countries in the region who have remained NEUTRAL in that conflict and we as Egyptians do not like interfering in other countries and were NOT going to be used by the MB as a recruiting ground for jihadists! it is not our culture or religion. One of those terrorists being the guy who orchestrated the Luxor massacre that killed all the tourists 20 years ago and who Morsi then released and unbelievably!!! then appointed the GOVERNOR OF LUXOR!!!
-
The army removed Morsi and handed power to Adly Mansour and Beblawi who are two of the most respected men in Egypt.
Morsi and the MB rally just before his ouster calling on Egyptians to go as jihadists to Syria and to return the caliphate.
That may be okay if Obama did it and Americans supported him but Egyptians rejected it
The army removed him
It’s like reading in the news that in 20 years time the shooter Anders Breivik has now been appointed the governor of the state he massacred all those children in.
That’s what we are talking about here. The insanity of it and it’s totally amazing to see people here supporting a scenario where that happens
[UOTE]Obama during the time left in his presidency has an uphill battle to fight, in order to rectify the damages that his policies have left in the already turbulent Middle East, but the trust between him and the people in the region is damaged beyond repair.
**The US credibility in the region has been lost once and for all especially among traditional allies like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
**
However, the Obama administration insists on interfering in favor of Islamists and neglecting the rights of the overwhelming majorities whether in Egypt or Turkey to live in free societies without the tyranny of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and its opposite number in Turkey, the ruling Justice and Development party.
Obama’s tragic flaw is to leave delicate matters like relations with a heavyweight country like Egypt in the hands of such senators like John McCain, who ruins relations with other nations as he breathes.

How many signatures does the law state are necessary in order to remove the president from office?
Did Morsi have a legal obligation to negotiate, or to keep his word? Because IO’m pretty sure that no country has laws forbidding politicians from lying.
According to the law, how many people needed to come out to the streets in order to legally remove a president from power?
Were any of these things against the law? If so, which law?
Who decided these men were respected? Did the parliament vote to make them respected, or was it a court ruling?
Remember - rules. Which rules were followed, and which were broken?
Am I imagining things or is an Israeli lecturing about obeying the laws

Tell us all about the Israeli Constitution
Oooops you don’t have one do you :smack:
Hey, I said I was in favor of Sissi. I just want you to admit that while the coup may have been justified, it wasn’t necessarily legal. It’s OK to break the rules sometimes to do the right thing - just don’t deny you’ve broken the rules.
NAME: The Muslim Brotherhood
The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in 1928, is a militant, pro-sharia law organization that has used both violent and non-violent means to achieve its ultimate goal of restoring the Muslim caliphate and the glory of the Islamic empire.
The Muslim Brotherhood has spawned dozens and dozens of organizations across the globe, including the terrorist organizations al Qaeda and Hamas.
Today, numerous Muslim organizations in America are either actively connected to the Muslim Brotherhood or owe their existence to the Muslim Brotherhood.
In 2004, federal investigators discovered a Muslim Brotherhood memorandum during a search of a northern Virginia home. The memorandum, written by Mohamed Akram for the Muslim Brotherhood’s Shura Council, described a “civilization jihad” aimed at North America. It stated:
- “The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” *

One of the MB’s more famous propagandists is WSJ reporter Matt Bradley who feeds the MB propaganda to the West , one of today’s little nuggets:
“Morsi was in power for a year and never passed a single Islamist piece of legislation.”
That’s because the judges disbanded the Parliament to stop him bringing into law marriage to 6 year olds, or the destruction of the Churches etc.
Can you imagine what Egyptians feel when they read this trash from a WSJ reporter? Seriously???
