Nothing in that quote says you advocated Obama breaking a law. You said Obama was correct, policy-wise, in not cutting aid. But it turns out he did cut aid. So was he still correct when he did that, or is Obama now as bad as McCain, who called early on for aid to be cut? Or, is it only bad to call for aid to be cut if you want to divert the aid to build bridges?

When Americans say we believe the Morsi election was valid we are responding primarily to, I believe, the fact that it was certified as legitimate by the Egyptian Election Commission and Morsi was lawfully certified to be President. We are not responding to the possibility that Morsi was taking orders from Murshid. As a rule most Americans know very little about things like that.
I for instance still would say from my perspective that the election was legitimate and lawful even if its true that Morsi must obey a supreme religious leader before upholding the constitution and governing in a mode comparable with freedom of religion - because most Egyptians knew that going in when they voted.
That said I am sympathetic to the problem the moderates and anti MB voters had because was not the opposition to Morsi tied to Mubarak somehow?
Could you fill me in on Morsi’s opponent so I can be sure about that?

You missed out many problems
Voters were stopped from voting in anti Morsi areas.
MB judges in polling stations were rigging boxes.
Neutral judges refused to take part and voting station didn’t open in areas.
Coptic areas were threatened or didn’t get to vote.
Millions of illiterate peasants were given boxes outside the polls of oil and sugar and rice to vote Morsi.
MB were driving round and outside all stations telling the people that they would go to hell if they voted Shafik and remember Egyptians are pious and half are illiterate poor peasants.
The carried on violating election rules by sitting outside campaigning at polls till the end of voting.
These are just a few of the violations we watched the 2 days in our streets.
You cannot possibly call this democratically elected by my meaning of the term?
IF you were in Egypt then you would have seen the complete difference in the 2 days of voting.
It was nothing like in the above post. It went smoothly with virtually zero violations of the rules of voting.
