I imagine the actual crash wasn’t filmed (at least, I hope it wasn’t, though that’s what it sounds like from CNN’s description.) But I don’t think I’d want to watch the video anyway.

God yes. When did this moronic trend for every snippet of news on the web to come in video format come about, and more importantly why? I want to read a news story at my own pace (which is probably a hell of a lot faster than the simpleton reading an Autocue), and I want to be able to glance at it while I’m doing something else, not wait for a video to load, wait to skip past the inevitable ad for debt relief or painkillers, then turn the sound up on my PC (not usually desirable if you share an office).

When they put it in video form, if you want to see it, you have no choice but to look at the ad that will inevitably play first, you cannot ignore it like an ad on a web page.
