Is Cross-Posting (From Other Forums) Allowed?

I emailed this question to a couple of moderators. But I emailed it late at night, so they probably won’t get it till morning anyways. But in the meantime I will ask it here:

I have this thread I started on an entirely different forum from here (a science forum, in case you were wondering). And I did get alot of interesting replies there. But I was thinking of posting the question here too.

FYI I was thinking of doing this one of two ways: I could either copy and paste the entire text here from the other forum. Or I could simply rephrase the question here. Maybe even make it somewhat different. This last thing obviously makes this two questions: are either of these things (pasting or rephrasing) allowed on the SDMB?

Thank you in advanced to any and all who respond to this thread

BTW, by another “forum”, I mean an entirely different message board of course  .

Just don’t post, on either board, something like …“Hey, go over to The XXXX Board and see what these guys said about my questioin.”

That’s how board wars start.

You should be free to ask the exact same question in any form on as many boards as you wish.

Just make sure you post it on the other board(s) first, because once you post it here, it becomes copyrighted and the property of the Chicago Reader, so if you were to post it elsewhere AFTER posting it here, you’d be violating their copyright.

(Joking)
