Is cspan supposed to be non partisan?

If so…why were they covering that bash Kerry event in DC live today?

They also carry events that bash Bush. So, yes, they are nonpartisan, in that they cover events for both sides.

They cover Bush bashes in that they do the whole thing live?

C-SPAN does pretty much everything live.

C-SPAN covers a lot of campaign events and they tend to show the whole thing, so you don’t just see the sound bites that end up on TV news.

On C-SPAN call in shows, there are separate numbers to call depending upon your political alignment so callers from one side don’t dominate the discussion.

C-SPAN is great, not only do they show whole events but they also don’t have analysts chattering about the event the whole time. They’re about as non-partisan as it gets on US TV.

They’re also the only national media to cover the Libertarian National convention, and I think that they’ve even covered the Reform Party’s national convention. So not only are they nonpartisan, they also give more attention to fringe parties than the national media does.

The NYC demonstration on the Sunday before the RNC was live on C-SPAN. Five hours long, at that - it took that long for all 120,000 people to pass by.
