Is eating this brie basically like eating butter?

For lunch today and yesterday, I had two slices of brown bread, an apple, and chunk of delicious full-cream brie. Looking at the nutrition label was a bit shocking–the 28g serving, of which I probably had one or almost two, contains 12 g of saturated fat. Certainly eating gobs of butter is a disaster for your arteries–is my yummy cheese just as bad, or are there ameliorating qualities to it?

Definitely tastes better (IMO). But it’s an undeniable fat bomb.

Using this label as a guide, 28 grams of butter would only contain 11.2 grams of saturated fat.

Close, but according to nutritiondata.com, “only” about 73% of brie’s calories are from fat. Butter and margarine are 100% fat (well, 99.3%).
