Is Fox News really all that bad?

??? Isn’t that like mixing matter and anti-matter? Neither of those guys is “moderate” in any sense, and they’re non-moderates in very much opposite directions!

That’s like a Nixon/Humphrey ticket in '68!

I should have said independent. I think Sanders or Paul are the only 2 outside of the libertarian and green parties that would open the door for 3rd and more parties to get in the game. A moderate in the present sense is too easily tied to the corporate sellouts conditions/disease we currently have. If there we more parties things would operate in a shape instead of a sold out corporate line of left to right. The dems and repubs just shift along that line with limited accountability and an always slightly shifting stance that only holds its ground on its shady foundation of being sellouts to banks and corporations. its like 2 siblings with a he said she said argument that never ends. more parties means more accountability and being held to what you say.

Actually a Trump third party run would be more likely to be more consequential than Sanders or anyone else.

Of course that’s a party I would not want to go to.

The libertarians and greens (far left and far right) agree that climate change is real (at least Rand Paul acknowledges it), lobbyists are horrible (which makes it even more sad that Paul Ryans wife is a rich lobbyist and he is now speaker of the friggin house!) and they both oppose spending trillions of dollars on war. Those issues and education and a flat tax or simpler tax code are things I can roll with!

I’m getting tired of this s***, FOX news had already a history of spinning the news in support of sedition as seen in the Cliven Bundy case:

And now the Bundys are at again and FOX is starting again with their crappy spin, this time defending some guys that got into trouble with the law in Oregon, and as the issue has a connection with environmental policies made more noticeable with the building they are taking over right now it does not take a genius to foresee that more stupid headlines and support of sedition made by FOX is coming. It has to be noted that the corporate media is only barely better so far. As a Doper on the pit thread points out:

[QUOTE=RitterSport]

[The NY Times has a small article on the front page of their website. Fox News has it front and center with this headline:

‘AS LONG AS IT TAKES’: Armed protesters hunker down in federal building over ranching dispute

Now, let’s pretend these were armed Muslim extremists that took over a federal building. Would the NY Times have a small headline? Would Fox News call them “armed protesters”?](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=18984729&postcount=26)

Monthly jobs numbers report. Great news. Here is the special alert banner on the legitimate major news sites:

CNBC: “Whoa! Job creation surges in December.”
NYTimes: “U.S. Economy Added 292,000 Jobs in December; Unemployment Rate at 5%”
CNN: “U.S. adds 2.65 million jobs in 2015 for 2nd best year since 1999”
Wall Street Journal: “U.S. Employers Post Strong Job Gains”

Foxnews: “…” (I’m sure it’s here somewhere. Oh, there it is. Usually they don’t report it at all! Buried half way down the page underneath the lead story which is Hillary did something on Benghazi.)

“December jobs report better than expected, 292,000 new jobs.” Interesting tone.

It had to be down there because they needed room for “Gunman ‘confesses’ to attempted execution of Philly cop,” “‘American Sniper’ widow takes on Obama over guns,” “Lessons in Hate: Philly high schooler gets threats over race column,” and “Benghazi Foul-up: Emails reveal how Clinton fumed over name mistake.”

Gotta keep the agenda focused, you know.

(Particularly love the lead story on the high school asshat who "opined that Michael Brown, the black teenager killed in 2014 by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., was “a delinquent” who was “at worst, justifiably killed, and at best, [was] a thug.” Fox is shocked … shocked! … that he’s facing backlash! Very important news, that.)

And this also after several state investigations already cleared PP of any wrongdoing. What FOX is doing now is reaching malfeasance levels for misleading their viewers with no shame.

I’ve not read the thread – the question seems to answer itself – but I click to FoxNews sometimes from Google News.

Today I was slighly astounded to see “What voters know about Hillary Clinton: She’s a crook” as a suggested link. The “she’s a crook” story itself is marked OPINION, but not the Fox story with the link.

As an experiment I went to the home page, foxnews.com itself. The recent debate was mentioned, but only with “Clinton not asked about foundation investigation at debate”, and that story was not marked opinion. This story was considered so important it was linked to twice. There were two other mentions of Clinton on the foxnews home page, both also negative.

I get enough recreational outrage at the Dope without reading this thread, so just tell me: Are there really Dopers who think FoxNews is NOT “all that bad”?

Every time this thread is bumped someone will come out of the woodwork claiming that Fox News is the shining unbiased beacon in a liberal-controlled media.

Yeah, there are. It’s scary. But do yourself a favor, and continue not reading this thread!

45, and never heard of it. But then again, I was allergic to reading as a teenager.

I suppose you intended this for the thread about “Go Ask Alice”. But if you have never heard of Fox news, I envy you.

LOL. Yep, I posted in the wrong thread. Unfortunately, I have heard of Fox News.

I’ll take this thread revival as an opportunity to point out that while I heard Obama referred to as “Barack Hussein Obama” many times on Foxnews, I haven’t heard anything about “Eduardo Rafael Cruz” for some reason.

Fox News Reports UK Has Left The UN After EU Referendum Vote

Tonight at 11 on FOX: The UK has left the solar system…

To add commentary, because my initial reaction was “meh, that one’s an innocuous mistake.”

Then I realized it fits perfectly with their tactic of intentionally making mistakes like this. Minimizing US support for the UN is a plank in the Fox agenda. Similar to changing ill-doers party affiliation when it suits them, this leaves a subtle cue in the minds of their low-information/vastly misinformed (and easily fooled) audience.

Fox news really is that bad.
