The UK has left the building!
Fox news is basically the ultra right wing Republican channel. It’s embarrassing to watch, but the news feed of fox preys on poorly educated, ultra religious old folks and misinformed, gun crazy pro war youth who just want their parents approval. And for the record, MSNBC is pretty bad on the other end of the spectrum. The problem isn’t fox news though, it’s partisan politics in general and the ideological split this country has undergone since the eighties made fox news possible. Issues like abortion and gun rights are just a proxy topics for the Democratic and Republican parties to use the masses to fight their war over control of public and private power. People just lap it up too because they are poorly informed, but worst of all, scared.
Indeed, we are currently being towed by a fleet of giant tugs to a secret location that will better position the UK for the global economy. It was a bit tight between Ireland and Brittany but you know that old trick for getting sofas through narrow doors …
At this rate,we may even have political leadership in a week … anyway, I’m happy to report bracing conditions but we’re mostly looking forward to this new, magnificent adventure
Someplace with a better climate, I assume.
Back to the OP question.
I think Fox brings a balance to the other news media outlets which are mostly liberal. When you listen to the others its democrats can do no wrong, the government is always right (especially when its run by democrats), conservative Christians are a disease, public schools are always better than private, etc…
So its balance.
It’s.
Your reasoning is as suspect as your spelling.
Written by someone who hasn’t read the previous thousand or so posts(generously giving you the benefit of the doubt).
I have seen none of these claims espoused by the rest of the mainstream media.
This sounds more like what Right wing radio and Right wing church pastors say about the media than anything that the media actually says.
A straw man argument is of no consequence.
How about it. Urbanredneck: Cite?
Even if it were true (and it ain’t) what kind of logic is – “They told lies about me, so I’m gonna tell lies about them: yeah, that’ll restore the balance of truth!”
If somebody tells a lie…expose it as such, and use the truth to do it. That’s philosophy. Also fighting ignorance.
Just watch FoxNews for awhile, and you’ll understand.
This is me congratulating myself for finally realizing that anyone capable of making a claim like that is well beyond my powers to persuade.
Three comments to that.
-
As already stated, the poster apparently hasn’t read the preceding thousand or so posts.
-
As already stated, mainstream media have never made any such ridiculous claims.

The above poster recently started a thread about how vaccines are linked to autism, since moved to the Pit where it belongs. Now I don’t know where he gets his information, but here’s a great example of why he might favor Fox News:
Nothing like providing a little “balance”, eh? Since the mainstream media won’t typically cover the ravings of a disgraced, unethical proven fraud who’s been stripped of his medical credentials, leave it to Fox News to provide the necessary “balance”!
Okay, maybe we should give them some credit for shutting this down, except of course that this is exactly the audience they’re aiming for and shutting it down is probably just an attempt to hide that.
“Fox News Shuts Down Comments On Malia Obama Post When They Realize How Racist Their Readers Are”

I’m not going to quote any of the comments, but there are screen captures at the link. Be warned that many are blatantly racist.
cite?
Blatantly, indeed!! I think I know who one commenter means with “Malkim X” but who do they mean by “G. Sorous”? YKW, never mind.
Presumably George Soros…who’s not black, but he’s a Jewish progressive, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the losers making those comments hated him as well.
George Soros is a right-wing bogeyman. If there’s something the right doesn’t like, they claim that he funds it. For example, if you try to prove or disprove something by linking to Snopes they state that Snopes is a left-wing rag owned and supported by George Soros and therefore cannot be trusted to be accurate. If you ask them to prove it they’ll just tell you that it’s a known fact.
It’s called listening. Just listen to CNN or NBC, or ABC, or NPR and just listen to the slant. They never say anything negative about Obama or Hillary while Bush when he was in office could do nothing right.
They slam conservative groups like the tea party but what about their liberal counterparts? You hear the word “right wing” alot but what about “left wing”?
Why is the word “progressive” always referring to liberal ideas? Who decides what is progressive? Oh yeah, the media.
And ever watch Saturday Night Live or the Colbert Report? They may have a slight joke on democrats and especially Obama but they never draw blood.
So just watch and listen. You’d have to be blind not to see bias in the media.
Sooo…this happens regularly on The Colbert Report?
