‘Borderline’? :dubious:
Republican strategist Steve Schmidt did a massive take-down of Fox on December 15th:
Yes, borderline. Thing is, they’re on the other side of that border from us.
To Johnny L.A., “borderline” means something like on the edge of, barely, only just; he is implying that those particular people are clearly nowhere near the border but well into that realm.
As I pointed out in another thread, right now, as of 9:12 EST on December 18, more than half the stories and opinion pieces at the top of the Fox News webpage are dedicated to how the FBI is a corrupt organization trying to engineer a coup - and idea that is objectively false and should be laughable to any adult capable of holding down a full time job.
To review, a major new organization is now primarily reporting on a conspiracy theory that is simply ludicrous and in total defiance of fact or reason.
You cannot find an equivalent thing on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, or any other major news outlet. There is no comparison at all.
Foxnews and many of their personalities have been deeply involved in this administration. If there is corruption that will be uncovered by the FBI, Fox might just be rallying to protect themselves.
Iran and Iraq have secret nuclear weapons programs and want to nuke America! Be afraid! OK, so that’s not quite so silly, just USG propaganda.
CNN: Even Pokémon Go used by extensive Russian-linked meddling effort
Right: that’s completely apples and oranges.
The media reported what the claims of the US and UK governments were. That those claims turned out to be nonsense is not the media’s fault (though they could have emphasized more what the UN and weapons inspectors were saying, and/or correspondents in the region).
Meanwhile the FBI thing is a baseless claim that’s just one short step from the lizard people.
I noted this on the pit about Trump, but since it involves FOX news it has to be mentioned here:
Remember how the media during the Bush ‘the lesser’ administration was accused to be a stenographer for that administration specially on the lead to the Iraq invasion? That was bad but I think it is worse when it is looking as media like FOX is the one making the narrative now and it is the president the one that is the stenographer:
I think I’m going to puke.
Dear Fox News:
You are in a position of great influence and power. Our president is a complete moron, who gets everything he knows about the world from you.
I dont expect you not to have opinions on the news…that would be too much to ask. But in the name of all that’s holy, as Americans, could you please just tell the truth? Thank you.
Sean Hannity, chastises NBCnews for not covering a story. He links to the story that NBCnews is refusing to cover. The link is to NBCnews.com. You can’t make up this level of stupid.
Lord God what a #$%#&% tool.
Article one:
Article two:
This is why Fox News sucks, and why people who use it as their primary source of news are so ill-informed. Both articles accurately report what Trump said. Fox ends it there, giving its loyal readers the impression that Obama made a stupid deal. CNN fact-checked Trump and found that, as usual, he is lying. The decision to build a new embassy and sell the old one was made by the Bush admin in 2008, evidently because the old one could not be made secure.
The consensus view outside of Foxworld is that Trump’s real reason for cancelling the trip is because he will face crowds of real people, who will boo him, rather than the hand-picked supporters who attend his rallies.
Well of course. Any thinking person knows this. trump thought before that all of the people protesting him and his motorcade where supporters cheering him on. Perhaps someone set him down and explained the truth and the signs that he apparently can’t read.
Just saw this for the first time. VERY, VERY well done.
And also, maybe it appears like they sold the Embassy for peanuts because they never owned the land it was built on. It’s a long term lease. And sort of a cool story.
That’s actually a very cool story. Thanks for the link, Ann!
And the reason that there is no click bait on FOX is you’re already there.
Foxnews had the story about Trump’s affair with a porn star before the election, but decided it wasn’t newsworthy andshelved it. No doubt in favor of a story that Hillary Clinton’s aunt’s former roommate is a bad tipper.
I’m sure they would have given the same courtesy to President Obama.
